NIACC ranked second in latest Intermat poll
MASON CITY - The NIACC wrestling team is ranked No. 2 in Intermat's NJCAA Division I rankings released Wednesday.
Western Wyoming is ranked No. 1. Iowa Western is ranked fifth, Iowa Central and Ellsworth are tied for ninth and Iowa Lakes is ranked 20th.
NIACC has seven ranked wrestlers, including four who are ranked second in their respective weight classes. Brock Luthens (9-2) is ranked second at 133, Hunter Luke (3-0) is second at 141, Tony Mendoza (8-2) is second at 149 and Zack Santee is second at 285.
Other ranked wrestlers for the Trojans are Kendall Sandifer (8-3) is sixth at 157, Christian Minto (9-0) is fourth at 174 and Holton Truax (5-3) is ninth at 197.
NIACC returns to action Saturday at the Central College Invitational.
