
NIACC set to compete at indoor nationals
TOPEKA, Kan. - The NIACC men's track and field team will compete in five events at the NJCAA Indoor Championships Friday and Saturday on the Washburn University campus.
NIACC freshman Bryson Canton will compete in the 1,000 meter and the mile. The Trojans' Fabian Steene will compete in the high jump and Perez Hemmings will compete in the 60-meter hurdles.
The Trojans will also run in the 4x400-meter relay.
Canton will run in the preliminaries of the 1,000 at 8:10 p.m. on Friday. He will run the mile at 2:20 p.m. on Saturday.
Steene will compete in the high jump at 7 p.m. on Friday. The prelims of the 60-meter hurdles is set for 4:05 p.m.
The 4x400-meter relay is scheduled for 4:10 p.m. on Saturday.
The NIACC women's track and field team will compete in three events at the national meet. Jordan Swenson will compete in the high jump (10:45 a.m. Saturday), Madelyn Wilson will compete in the weight throw (2 p.m. Saturday) Tara Backhaus will compete in the 60-meter hurdles preliminaries (5 p.m. Friday).
