NIACC's Scarano earns first-team all-region honor
MASON CITY – The NIACC men's soccer team had four players selected to the all-NJCAA Region XI teams released on Tuesday.
Sophomore striker Alex Scarano was a first-team selection. Sophomore striker Aleksander Trujic was a second-team selection.
Scarano, who was a second-team all-region pick as a freshman, and Trujic both scored eight goals for the Trojans, who were 5-6-1 overall and 2-6-1 in the ICCAC.
NIACC sophomores Layton Wheeler (defender) and Hayden Bunch (midfielder) were honorable mention all-region selections.
Wheeler scored two goals with six assists and Bunch scored three goals with two assists.
