NIACC's Tucker earns player of week honors
MASON CITY - For the second time this season, NIACC's Myles Tucker has been selected as the ICCAC Division II men's basketball player of the week for the week of Feb. 21-27.
Tucker, who also won the award for the week of Nov. 29-Dec. 5, shared the weekly award with Kirkwood's Dre Anderson.
Tucker, a guard from Ottawa, Ill., scored 27 points in both of NIACC's NJCAA Region XI tournament contests last weekend in the NIACC gym.
In NIACC's 83-77 overtime win over Iowa Western in the first round, Tucker was 10 of 20 from the field, including three 3-point goals. He also had five rebounds, three assists and one steal.
In the Trojans' 80-75 loss to Kirkwood in the semifinals, Tucker was 8 of 21 from the field, including four 3-point goals. He also had three rebounds and one steal.
Tucker scored 436 points in the 2021-22 season, which ranks 47th on the school's single-season scoring list. He connected on 55 3-point goals, which ranks 27th on the school's single-season list.
