MASON CITY - The NIACC men's basketball team dropped a 80-75 decision to top-seed Kirkwood Sunday night in the NJCAA Region XI tournament semifinals.

Kirkwood (23-7 overall) trailed 38-37 at the half but the Eagles outscored the Trojans 43-37 in the second 20 minutes to advance to the regional title game.

No. 13 Kirkwood hosts second-seed DMACC on Thursday in the regional title game. No. 8 DMACC (24-7) moved to the finals with a 67-53 victory over third-seed Iowa Lakes in the first game on Sunday.

Kirkwood was led by sophomore Blake Brinkmeyer with 16 points and 12 rebounds. DeChaun Anderson also recorded a double/double for the Eagles with 14 points and 14 rebounds.

Dre Anderson led the Eagles in scoring with 18 points. The Eagles also received 15 points from Dante Eldridge.

NIACC (20-12) was led by Myles Tucker with 27 points, including four 3-point goals. Tucker also scored 27 points in Saturday's opening round tournament win over Iowa Western.

NIACC also received 12 points from Noah Rigatuso and 10 points from Bradley Andrews.

Cortaviaus Seales led the Trojans with six assists. Devon'dre Mayfield grabbed seven rebounds and blocked four shots.
