FREMONT, Neb. - The NIACC baseball team swept a doubleheader against Midland University on Thursday.
NIACC (11-6) won the first game 13-7 and completed the sweep with a combined perfect game from Riley Wikel, Ryan Huntington, Ty Yewman and Nate Overby.
In the first game, Aaron Kubal collected three hits, including a home run and a double, and drove in four runs. Also for the Trojans, Bryce Ball had three hits and Ben Komonsky had two hits and drove in two runs.
In the second game, the four NIACC pitchers combined for 12 strikeouts and did not walk a batter.
Cade Schares hit his first career collegiate home run for the Trojans.
NIACC, which has won four of its last five games, is scheduled to play a four-game series Saturday and Sunday at Iowa Western.
