ESTHERVILLE - The NIACC baseball team swept Iowa Lakes in an ICCAC doubleheader on Monday.
NIACC (26-14 overall, 10-6 in the ICCAC) won the first game 10-4 and took the second game 8-2.
NIACC is tied for second in the league with Iowa Central (24-13) with its 10-6 mark. Southeastern (30-10) leads the league with a 9-3 record.
In the first game on Monday, sophomore Brandon Michie was 3 for 3, including a home run, with two runs scored and four RBIs. Matt Schwarz was 2 for 5, including a triple, with two runs scored and Bryce Ball scored two runs.
Spencer Chirpich (3-4) gained the win for NIACC. He allowed four runs (2 earned) with five strikeouts and two walks in six innings of work.
In the second game, Ryan Huntington (2-3) gained the win allowing two runs with seven strikeouts and three walks in six innings of work.
NIACC returns to action Tuesday in a non-conference twinbill at Dakota County Technical College.
