KANSAS CITY - The No. 12 NIACC baseball team split a doubleheader with Kansas City Community College on Sunday.
Kansas City CC won the opener 5-0 and the Trojans took the second game 5-2.
In the second game, the Trojans scored three runs in the fourth inning and pushed across two runs in the sixth inning.
Matt Schwarz was 2 for 4, including a double, with two RBIs. Ezequis Encarncion was 2 for 2, including a triple, and scored two runs.
Tyler Lien (1-0) gained the win for the Trojans. He pitched three scoreless innings allowing one hit with two strikeouts and four walks.
Brandon Williamson pitched two scoreless innings allowing no runs and no hits with one strikeout to pick up the save for the Trojans.
NIACC (1-3) returns to action March 2 against Parkland College at the Babe Howard Classic in Millington, Tenn.
