
Jimenez, Davison pace NIACC women
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - There was some movement on the NIACC women's cross country all-time 5-kilometer top 25 list on Friday night.
In her first collegiate race, NIACC's Paula Jimenez placed 27th at the Augustana Twilight in a time of 18 minutes, 40 seconds. The 18:40 ranks third on the school's all-time 5K list.
Also Friday night, sophomore Emma Davison placed 53rd in a personal-best time of 19:14 moving her up to fourth on the school's all-time 5K list. Davison's previous best 5K time was a 19:32 at the 2018 Trent Smith Invitational.
NIACC freshman Whitney Martin placed 157th in 20:46, which is 23rd on the school's all-time list.
The top two times on the NIACC all-time 5K list belong to Hannah Palmeter, who ran a 17:51 in 2014, and Anna Buenneke, who ran a 18:15 in 2011.
NIACC placed 15th with a total of 452 points. South Dakota won the team title with 40 points and Nebraska was second with 67 points.
South Dakota's Abby Ripperda was the individual champion in 16:47.
Also for NIACC on Friday, Alana Wickering was 225th (21:55), Miricle Corbo was 240th in a personal best 22:15, Ashley Kriener was 251st (22:43), Maisie Hoskins was 257th (22:51), Cecelia Hemsworth was 266th (23:19) and Lauren Kern was 279th (24:11).
NIACC returns to action Sept. 13 at the Grand View Viking Invitational.
