Trojans' Guedeyi places 14th in 400
MANKATO, Minn. - NIACC freshman Suzanne Guedeyi placed 14th out of 37 athletes in the 400-meter dash Saturday at the Minnesota State-Mankato Mark Schuck Open.
Guedeyi, who prepped at Ames High, earned her 14th-place finish in a personal-best time of 1 minute, 4.97 seconds. Ariella Rogahn-Press of Macalester won the event in a time of 56.67.
Guedeyi's previous personal best in the 400 was 1:06.38 at the Hilltop Invitational in Mount Vernon on Jan. 25.
Also for the Trojans, sophomore Cloey Usher was 17th in the 1,000-meter run in a time of 3:45.56.
NIACC freshman Olivia Spurling was 22nd in the 800 in a time of 2:39.74.
NIACC returns to action Friday at Wartburg College's Friday Knight Lights in Waverly.
