MASON CITY - The NIACC women's soccer team played No. 6 (NJCAA Division III) RCTC to a 2-2 double-overtime draw Tuesday in a non-conference contest on the NIACC campus.
NIACC led 2-1 at the half as the Trojans received goals from Amalia Briseno and Brianna Marchand. Valerie Nelson assisted on Briseno's goal and Marchand scored off a corner kick from Jette Busche.
RCTC (7-3-1) tied the contest at 2-2 with 15 minutes, 58 seconds left in regulation.
The two teams played two 10-minute overtimes and neither team was able to score.
It was the second tie of the season for the Trojans (1-5-2). The Trojans also played Hawkeye CC to a 2-2 draw on Sept. 20 in Waterloo.
NIACC returns to action Wednesday at home against Southeastern CC in an ICCAC contest. The match is slated to start at 3:30 p.m.
