Vaught era begins with scrimmage
MASON CITY - The Brad Vaught era of NIACC women's basketball unofficially got underway Saturday in the NIACC gym with a scrimmage against William Penn University.
Vaught, who was an assistant boys basketball coach at Stewartville High School in Minnesota, took over the Lady Trojans on July 24, 2020. He took over for Todd Ciochetto, who left for Seward County CC in Kansas. Ciochetto was 153-46 in six seasons as head coach of the Lady Trojans.
NIACC will plan another exhibition at Grand View on Tuesday.
NIACC begins the 2021 season on Jan. 20 at Iowa Central. The Lady Trojans' home opener is Jan. 23 against DMACC.
