NIACC's Laabs selected as ICCAC player of week
MASON CITY - For the third time this season, NIACC sophomore Taylor Laabs has been selected as the ICCAC women's basketball player of the week for the week of Jan. 29-Feb. 4.
Laabs, a sophomore guard, shared the ICCAC Division II award this week with Southeastern's Nadirah Oakman.
Laabs also earned the award during the week of Nov. 13-19 and Jan. 8-14.
Last week, Laabs scored a career-high 42 points and connected on nine 3-point goals in the Lady Trojans' win over Southwestern. She also scored 19 points with six assists and five steals in a win over Iowa Lakes.
The 42 points by Laabs is tied for the third on the NIACC women's single-game scoring list and the nine 3-point goals is tied for seventh on the school's single-game list.
Laabs ranks third on the school's career three-point list with 118.
No. 15 NIACC returns to action Saturday in an ICCAC contest at Southeastern. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
