No. 10 NIACC women cruise past Ellsworth, 89-46
MASON CITY - UU Longs scored 19 points and Selena Shady scored 15 points to lift No. 10 NIACC to a 89-46 victory over Ellsworth in an ICCAC women's basketball contest in the NIACC gym Wednesday night on Vance Baird Night.
NIACC (16-4 overall, 3-1 in the ICCAC) won for the 14th straight time at home and 10th straight time in the 2017-18 season.
NIACC, which led 39-24 at the half, outscored Ellsworth 26-5 in the third quarter and cruised to the 43-point victory. It was the Lady Trojans' 12th straight win over the Panthers.
The NIACC women have outscored their opponents 1,323 to 892 in the 14-game home-court winning streak.
Also for the Lady Trojans on Wednesday, Taylor Laabs scored 10 points and Mikayla Homola and Morgan Frank both scored eight points.
NIACC returns to action Saturday in an ICCAC contest at No. 20 DMACC in Boone. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
