No. 9 NIACC women cruise past Riverland, 128-36
MASON CITY - The No. 9 NIACC women's basketball team cruised to a 128-36 victory over Riverland Community College Tuesday night in the NIACC gym.
The 128 points by the Lady Trojans is the fifth-highest point total by a women's team in school history.
Freshman Mikayla Homola scored 19 points to lead seven players in double figures as the Lady Trojans scored over 100 points for the third time in four games.
Also in double figures for the Lady Trojans were Adria Stewart (14), Taylor Laabs (13), Shayley Vesel (13), Laker Ward (12), UU Longs (11) and Selena Shady (10).
Morgan Frank led the Lady Trojans with 13 rebounds. Cici Kieger led the way with seven assists and Ward had seven steals.
The NIACC women return to action at 5 p.m. Friday against Rock Valley College in the first day of the NIACC Thanksgiving Basketball Challenge. The Lady Trojans face Lake Region State College at 6 p.m. Saturday and host the Grand View University Junior Varsity at 3 p.m. on Sunday.
