MASON CITY - The No. 9 NIACC women's basketball team rolled to a 90-61 victory over Bay College on Saturday at the Konigsmark Klassic in the NIACC gym.
NIACC (2-0 overall) connected on 17 3-point goals, which is tied for second most in the Todd Ciochetto era. The most three-point goals in a game since Ciochetto took over as coach in the 2014-15 season is 22 against Little Priest Tribal College on Nov. 11, 2016.
Shayley Vesel led three NIACC players in double figures with 17 points. Vesel was four of six from 3-point range. Taylor Laabs scored 12 points and Mikayla Homola scored 10 points for the Lady Trojans.
A total of 12 different players connected on 3-point goals for NIACC, which was 17 of 51 from 3-point range. The Lady Trojans were 10 of 34 from 3-point range in their season-opening 99-82 win over No. 18 Illinois Central on Friday.
