ROCHESTER, Minn. — NIACC improved to 4-2 with wins over Rochester Community and Technical College and Viterbo University Friday at the RCTC Early Bird tournament.
The Lady Trojans defeated RCTC 10-5 and closed out with an 8-7 win over Viterbo.
"I'm really proud how we competed today and it's been fun to watch this team continue to grow," NIACC coach Christi Weiser said.
Katie LaBuda continued her hot start with a 5 for 7 day at the plate with six stolen bases and four runs scored. She picked up the win in the circle against Viterbo, striking out two and walking one in five innings.
"She just continues to swing the bat well for us," Weiser said. "She's doing doing everything we're asking her to do and it's been great to see her find that confidence."
Kendall Cornick added a 6 for 8 day with a triple, three RBIs and five runs scored. She was also 10-11 stealing bases. NIACC stole 20 bases through the two games.
Brittany Florea added a five-hit, five-RBI day for the Lady Trojans.
