NIACC's Cornick earns 2nd team all-American honor by Fast Pitch News
MASON CITY - NIACC freshman outfielder Kendall Cornick has been selected as a NJCAA Division II second-team all-American by Fast Pitch News.
Cornick was one of 11 players from the ICCAC to be selected to the Fast Pitch News all-American teams.
DMACC's Kenzie Ihle was the pitcher of the year and Kirkwood's Taylor Nearad was the offensive player of the year.
Other ICCAC players selected were Kirkwood's Lexi Kinnaird (second team pitcher), Kirkwood's Nicky Simpson (second team pitcher), DMACC's Brittany Roby (first team), Kirkwood's Morgan Frost (second team), DMACC's Claire Dudek (second team), Kirkwood's Gabi Carter (honorable mention), Kirkwood's Maddie Hansen (honorable mention) and Iowa Central's Makayla Burt (honorable mention).
Cornick, a center fielder, hit .561 with six doubles and three triples. She also stole 65 bases and scored 55 runs.
Cornick was also a NJCAA Division II first-team Midwest Region selection by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.
