
NIACC's Berger earns ICCAC golfer of week honor
MASON CITY - NIACC sophomore Bennett Berger has been selected as the ICCAC men's golfer of the week for the week of March 24-28.
Berger, who is from Lake Mills, is the first NIACC men's golfer to earn the league's golfer of week award since Tim Castle was honored during the week of March 18-24, 2024.
Berger shot rounds of 75-73 - 148 to claim individual medalist honors at the Graceland University Spring Invitational at the Mozingo Lake Golf Course on Saturday.
Berger is the 23rd NIACC men's golfer to win an individual title in the Chris Frenz era, which began in 2006.
NIACC placed fifth in the team standings with rounds of 331-307 - 638.
NIACC returns to action April 5-6 at the Upper Iowa Invitational at the Sunnyside Country Club in Waterloo.
