BURLINGTON - The NIACC baseball team dropped a 3-game series to Southeastern on Friday and Saturday.
Southeastern stopped NIACC 18-8 on Saturday. The Blackhawks swept the Trojans 5-2 and 10-2 in Friday's twinbill.
In Saturday's game, Southeastern scored six runs in the third inning and pushed across four runs in the fourth inning. The Blackhawks also scored three runs in the fifth inning, four runs in the seventh inning and a solo run in the eighth inning.
NIACC scored three runs in the third and fourth innngs and plated two runs in the fifth inning, but the Trojans did not score in their final four at-bats.
NIACC received home runs from Ben Wagner, Ike Mezzenga and Bennett McCollow.
Mezzenga and Cole Fuecker both collected two hits.
In Friday's first game, Southeastern scored a single run in the third inning, three runs in the fourth inning and a single run in the fifth inning. NIACC managed single runs in the fifth and seventh innings.
Cody Kelly and Cayden Nicoletto both collected two hits for the Trojans.
In the second game on Friday, Southeastern scored single runs in the first and third innings, five runs in the fourth inning and three runs in the eighth inning.
NIACC scored a single run in the third and eighth innings.
Logan Milene and McCollow both had two hits for the Trojans.
NIACC (18-13 overall, 7-8 in the ICCAC) returns to action Tuesday at Iowa Central. The ICCAC twinbill starts at 1 p.m. in Fort Dodge.
