NIACC sweeps Wartburg JV, 3-0
WAVERLY - The NIACC volleyball team topped the Wartburg College Junior Varsity 3-0 in a nonconference match Friday night.
The Lady Trojans won 25-22, 25-21, 25-9.
"We ended the week with a road win," NIACC coach Chris Brandt said. "We didn't play very well the first two sets but did enough to get a win."
Hannah Wagner and Kennedy Meister led the Lady Trojans with 11 kills apiece. Wagner also had six digs and six blocks and Meister also had 16 digs, four ace serves and two blocks.
The Lady Trojans also received 24 digs from Connor Gauch and 21 assists from Sydney Roush.
Also for the Lady Trojans, Ashley Groe had 15 assists and five digs, Sarah Kimberly had six kills, four digs and three blocks and Tessa Sienknecht had three kills, three digs and two blocks.
NIACC (13-6 overall, 1-3 in the ICCAC) returns to action Monday at the Grand View University Junior Varsity.
The Lady Trojans host Ellsworth on Wednesday, play Valley City State JV in Forest City on Friday and play at RCTC on Saturday.
"It'll be nice to have a day off and then gear up for a busy week ahead," Brandt said.
