NIACC goes 3-1 at Southeastern Invite
WEST BURLINGTON - The NIACC volleyball team won a pair of matches at the Jimmy John's Invitational hosted by Southeastern CC on Saturday.
NIACC (6-3 overall) topped Nassau CC 3-0 and stopped Carl Sandburg College 3-1.
In the match against Nassau CC, the Lady Trojans won 25-8, 25-6, 25-11.
Against Carl Sandburg College, NIACC won 25-14, 12-25, 25-20, 25-16.
"(Saturday) was fun to watch the team come together and really work as one," NIACC coach Chris Brandt said. "Defense was a key factor as well as minimizing the errors on our side.
"Our offense did a nice job of moving the ball around to help us staying unpredictable, especially against the tough Carl Sandburg team."
On Friday at the Southeastern CC, NIACC dropped a 3-1 decision to Kansas City (Kan.) CC and topped East Central College 3-1.
NIACC returns to action Wednesday in an ICCAC match at Kirkwood. Match time is set for 7 p.m.
