NIACC wins pair of matches
MASON CITY - The NIACC volleyball team picked up a pair of wins Sunday in the NIACC gym.
NIACC topped DCTC 3-1 in its first match. The Lady Trojans won 25-23, 20-25, 25-23, 25-14. Hannah Wagner led the Lady Trojans against DCTC with a career-high 22 kills and 13 digs.
Also for the Lady Trojans against DCTC, Tessa Sienknecht had a season-best nine kills. Sydney Roush had 30 assists and Connor Gauch had 15 digs. The Lady Trojans collected a season-high 13 ace serves, including five from Kennedy Meister.
The Lady Trojans completed the perfect day with a 25-15, 25-22, 25-17 win over the Grand View Junior Varsity.
Against the Grand View JV, Wagner had 10 kills and Meister had five kills. Roush and Ashley Groe both had 11 assists, Gauch had 15 digs and Meister had 11 digs.
NIACC (12-5 overall, 1-2 in the ICCAC) returns to action Wednesday in an ICCAC match at DMACC in Boone. Match time is set for 6:30 p.m.
