NIACC falls to Northeast CC, 3-0
NORFOLK, Neb. - The NIACC volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Northeast CC in the NJCAA Region XI-B title match Sunday.
Northeast CC won 25-12, 25-16, 25-11.
"After an amazing effort (Saturday), we struggled to get much going (Sunday)," NIACC coach Chris Brandt said. "NECC is a solid team who just doesn't make many errors or let the ball drop on its side.
"As a team, we will miss the sophomores and thank them for two years of work and leadership. They leave a legacy that will mold the future of NIACC volleyball."
NIACC's Hannah Wagner and Kennedy Meister were selected to the all-tournament team.
NIACC advanced to the regional title match with a 3-2 win over No. 18 Hawkeye CC on Saturday.
In Sunday's match against Northeast CC, Wagner had 10 kills and 12 digs and Meister had eight kills and 15 digs.
Also for the Lady Trojans, Connor Gauch had 13 digs, Ashley Groe had seven assists and seven digs, Sydney Roush collected 11 assists and 6 digs, Jamie Brenner had two blocks and Braylee Wood had two kills and three blocks.
