NIACC's Tobin earns ICCAC player of week honor
MASON CITY – For the second time this season and the third time in her career, NIACC's Grace Tobin has been selected as the ICCAC Division II offensive player of the week for the week of Sept. 27-Oct. 3.
Tobin accumulated 87 kills in four matches last week. She posted 20-kill performances in three of the five matches.
Tobin matched her career-high with 27 kills in a win over Ellsworth at the DMACC tournament.
Tobin ranks second in NJCAA Division II with 484 kills. She leads the ICCAC in kills and kills per set (4.28).
Tobin was also selected as the league's player of the week for the week of Sept. 6-12 this season and Feb. 8-14 in the 2021 spring season.
Tobin has 784 career kills, which ranks third on NIACC's career kills list. Kennedy Meister (2018-19) is the career leader with 989 kills and Hannah Wagner (2017-18) ranks second with 859 career kills.
Tobin's 484 kills currently ranks third on the school's single-season kills list. Wagner (2018) and Meister (2019) share the top spot with 581 single-season kills.
