NIACC falls to No. 9 Hawkeye CC
WATERLOO - The NIACC volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to No. 9 Hawkeye CC Wednesday in an ICCAC match.
Hawkeye CC (8-4 overall, 2-0 in the ICCAC) won 25-16, 25-16, 25-19.
"(Wednesday) we struggled to find any momentum or create it ourselves," NIACC coach Chris Brandt said. "Luckily for us, we get to compete another day and learn from this opportunity."
NIACC (3-8, 0-2) was led by Grace Tobin with nine kills and 12 digs. Samantha Coron had nine assists, nine digs and three kills.
Also for the Trojans, Kaylee Ollendieck had 15 digs, Ryley Wetlaufer had six digs and four assists and Megan Vidmar had five kills.
NIACC's Halie Keltner had seven digs and three kills and Kyla Moore had three kills, three digs and three blocks.
NIACC returns to action Friday and Saturday at the RCTC Tournament in Rochester, Minn.
