NIACC places 6th in DMR
LYNCHBURG, Va. - The NIACC women's distance medley relay team placed sixth Friday at the NJCAA Division I national indoor track and field meet.
The foursome of Caitlyn Regan, Rachel Trumm, Cecelia Hemsworth and Emma Davison ran the medley relay in a time of 12 minutes, 48.51 seconds to earn themselves USTFCCCA all-American honors.
The last time a women's relay team earned USTFCCCA all-American honors at the indoor national meet was 2015 when the 4x800 team of Kalama Towarap, Alyssa Cowan, Emmorie Stokka and Nicole Hewett placed eighth.
Hemsworth and Davison are now two-time all-Americans as they both ran a leg on the 4x800 team that placed eighth at the 2019 national outdoor meet.
Also Friday for the NIACC women, Regan placed 14th in the 1,000-meter prelims in a personal-best time of 3:09.95. Regan's previous personal best in the 1K was 3:10.59 at the Minnesota State Ted Nelson Classic on Feb. 8.
Davison was 15th in the 1,000 prelims (3:11.00).
Trumm placed 24th in the 400 prelims in a time of 1:02.39.
