NIACC women's team ranked 25th
MASON CITY - The NIACC women's track and field team is ranked 25th in the USTFCCCA NJCAA Division I poll released Wednesday.
New Mexico Junior College is ranked No. 1 and Iowa Central is ranked No. 2.
Iowa Western is ranked eighth and Hawkeye CC is ranked 18th.
Last Saturday, the Lady Trojans won the distance medley relay at the Grinnell College Invitational in a time of 13 minutes, 17.04 seconds and qualified for the NJCAA Division I national meet. The Lady Trojans ran Caitlyn Regan, Rachel Trumm, Whitney Martin and Emma Davison.
NIACC placed fifth with 48 points. Host Grinnell won the team title with 121 points.
NIACC also picked up second-place finishes from Davison in the 800-meter run (2:29.23) and Alana Wickering in the 3,000 (11:51.68).
NIACC's Stanita Zulu placed sixth in the 60 (8.56) and was eighth in the 200 (29.89).
