MASON CITY - The NIACC women's soccer team dropped a 7-2 decision to Hawkeye CC in an ICCAC contest Saturday on the NIACC campus.
Hawkeye CC led 5-1 at the half and outscored the Trojans 2-1 in the second 45 minutes.
Sophomore Jette Busche scored both of NIACC goals on penalty kicks. She scored the first goal with 2:02 left in the first half and added her second goal at the 41:27 mark of the second half.
Hawkeye CC, which is coached by former NIACC coach Leo Driscoll, improved to 6-3 overall and 3-0 in the ICCAC.
NIACC (1-4, 0-2) returns to action Wednesday at DCTC in a league match starting at 4 p.m.
