
Danger leads NIACC women
FORT DODGE - Sophomore Paige Danger shot a 47-47 - 94 to lead the NIACC women's golf team Friday on day one of the Iowa Central Spring Invitational at the Fort Dodge Country Club.
NIACC, which shot a 388 as a team, also received 97 from freshman Cameran Moellers, a 98 from sophomore Karissa Hoon and a 99 from sophomore Emma Weiner.
"I saw some good things from the team (Friday)," NIACC coach Chris Frenz said. "As the weather gets nicer, we're looking to see steady improvement.
"Paige Danger had a good day (Friday) with one of her better rounds. We just haven't all played well at the same time so we're looking forward to when that happens."
The second and final round of the invitational is set for Saturday.
"We'll get after it (Saturday)," said Frenz, whose team is in eighth place heading into Saturday.
Host Iowa Central leads the 2-day event with a 333 and Iowa Central is in second with a 337.
