
NIACC players earn POW honors
MASON CITY - The NIACC men's soccer team's season came to a close earlier this week with a loss to Southeastern in the NJCAA Region XI Division II semifinals.
But the Trojans earned a few individual honors for their play the previous week.
NIACC's Federico Figueredo was selected as the ICCAC Division II keeper of the week for the week of Oct. 17-23 and he was also the NJCAA Division II keeper of the week.
Figueredo was in goal for 65 minutes in the Trojans' 2-1 double overtime loss to Southeastern in the team's regular season finale. He allowed one goal and collected five saves. He also earned a 7-0 shutout over Scott CC in the first round of the NJCAA Region XI Division II tournament - making two saves.
Also, the Trojans' Geoffroy Letienne was selected as the ICCAC player of the week for the week of Oct. 17-23. Letienne scored a goal in the regular season finale and also scored a goal in the Trojans' regional tournament win over Scott CC.
