NIACC men's soccer team hosts Scott CC in tourney opener
MASON CITY - The NIACC men's soccer team will face Scott CC in the opening round of the NJCAA Region XI tournament at 2 p.m. Saturday on the NIACC campus.
NIACC (4-10-1 overall, 3-5 in the ICCAC) earned the fourth-seed for the six-team regional tournament. Scott CC (0-17, 0-8) is the fifth-seed.
The winner of Saturday's contest faces No. 6 (NJCAA Division II) Southeastern in the regional semifinals at 3 p.m. on Oct. 25 in Burlington. Southeastern nipped NIACC 2-1 in double overtime on Tuesday in the final match of the regular season for both squads.
NIACC topped Scott 3-0 in both regular season matchups this season. The Trojans won 3-0 on Sept. 24 in Mason City and also won 3-0 on Oct. 8 in Bettendorf.
