NIACC men place 6th at regional preview
PANORA - The NIACC men's golf team placed sixth at the NJCAA Region XI preview meet with a 322 at Lake Panorama Golf Course on Friday.
Sophomore Josh Schaefer led the Trojans with a 78, which was tied for 10th in the individual competition. Also for the Trojans, sophomores Devin Koob and Anthony Emanuel both shot 79s (tied for 14th) and freshman Ben Boerjan shot a 86.
NIACC's Jordan Voves shot a 96.
NIACC's Mitchell Scholl shot a 87 playing as an individual in the regional preview meet.
Kirkwood and Kirkwood B tied for first in the team standings on Friday with a pair of 306s. DMACC was third with a 308.
Team standings - Kirkwood 306, Kirkwood B 306, DMACC 308, Southwestern 317, Iowa Lakes 317, NIACC 322, Southeastern 337, Iowa Central 341, Northeast CC 343.
The two-day regional tournament is set for May 5-6 at Lake Panorama.
