NIACC men place 3rd at Southwestern Invite
CRESTON - The NIACC women's golf team placed third at the five-team Southwestern Spartan Invitational on Friday with a 333 at the Crestmoor Golf Club.
Southeastern won the 18-hole tournament with a 321. Host Southwestern was second with a 323, North Central Missouri College was fourth with a 338 and Iowa Central was fifth (372).
NIACC's Devin Koob was the runner-up medalist with a 78. Southwestern's Reinhardt Saunderson was the individual medalist with a 77.
Other counting scores for the Trojans were Jake Buntjer and Jordan Voves with a pair of 80s, which tied them for fifth in the individual competition. Anthony Emanuel was next in line with an 83.
Also for the Trojans, Josh Schaefer shot an 86, Ben Boerjan shot an 86, Mitchell Scholl shot an 87 and Grady Umbarger shot a 98.
NIACC returns to action next Friday at the Southwest Tech Invitational in Prairie Du Chien, Wis.
