NIACC's Backhaus earns 2 sixth-place finishes at regionals
COUNCL BLUFFS - NIACC's Tara Backhaus placed sixth in both hurdle events Sunday at the NJCAA Region 11 outdoor track and field championships.
Backhaus clocked a 17.19 to earn her sixth-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles. Backhaus was also sixth in the 400 hurdles in a time of 1:14.56.
In the 400-meter dash, NIACC's Katyrra Peck placed eighth in a time of 1:05.82.
NIACC's Jada Westover was 11th in the shot put with a toss of 30-0.
NIACC placed third in the 4x400-meter relay in a time of 4:50.54 running Backhaus, Peck, Jordan Swenson and Westover.
