NIACC women close season with 8-1 win

MASON CITY - The NIACC women's soccer team closed its regular season with an 8-1 win over Scott CC Saturday in an ICCAC contest.

NIACC (3-8 overall, 1-7 in the ICCAC) led 5-1 at the half and outscored Scott CC 3-0 in the second 45 minutes to claim the league victory.

The eight goals on Saturday ties school record for goals in a game by a NIACC women's soccer team. The Lady Trojans also scored eight in an 8-2 win over Scott CC in the 2002 season.

Freshman Zjhayda Heath scored four of the Lady Trojans' eight goals. Freshman Sophia Gebl scored two goals and Rose Priestley, Emily Jay and Tarran Williams all scored goals in the final match of the season.
