MASON CITY - The NIACC men's soccer team topped Scott CC 17-0 on Monday in an ICCAC match on the NIACC campus.
The match, which originally started on Sept. 23, resumed on Monday with 23:30 remaining in the first half and the Trojans leading 5-0. The Trojans added two goals in the first half to increase their lead to 7-0.
The Trojans scored 10 goals in the second half to push the final total to 17 goals, which ranks second on the school's all-time single-match scoring list. The single-match school record is 19 in 2006 when the Trojans topped Crossroads College 19-0.
NIACC's Hugo Garcia-Rosado Duran scored nine goals and added three assists. Elijah Kwizera and Abdul Rahman Jalloh both scored two goals for the Trojans.
Also scoring goals for the Trojans against Scott CC were Carlos Cuellar, Giorgio Dalzini, Manuel Alcaraz Jr. and Elia Salvatore Antonini.
NIACC returns to action Wednesday at Iowa Lakes in an ICCAC contest. Match time in Spencer is slated for 3:30 p.m.
