NIACC falls to DCTC, 93-84
MASON CITY - The NIACC men's basketball team dropped a 93-84 decision to DCTC Tuesday night in the NIACC gym.
DCTC (9-8 overall) led 46-34 at the half. NIACC outscored the Blue Knights 50-47 in the second half and came up nine points short in the non-conference contest.
Keenan Jones led DCTC with 29 points. Josh Ward was next in line for the Blue Knights with 16 points.
Sophomore Chett Helming led NIACC with 16 points. Myles Tucker, Jaydin Dunlap, Jeremiah Babers and Koen Derry all scored 14 points.
The 14 points for Derry were a career high.
Derry led the Trojans with a career-high 11 rebounds and collected his second double/double of his career. Derry scored 10 points with 10 rebounds in a Jan. 4 contest at Iowa Western.
Dunlap had nine rebounds, five steals and four rebounds to go with his 14 points.
NIACC (6-11 overall) returns to action Saturday at home against No. 11 Kirkwood. Game time in the NIACC gym is slated for 3 p.m.
