NIACC men fall to DMACC, 92-69
MASON CITY - The NIACC men's basketball team dropped a 92-69 decision to DMACC in the ICCAC opener for both teams Saturday in the NIACC gym.
DMACC led 39-36 at the half and outscored the Trojans 53-33 in the second 20 minutes to claim the league victory.
DMACC (10-2 overall, 1-0 in the ICCAC) was led by Angelo Winkel with 20 points and 10 rebounds. The Bears' Jaron Crews scored 16 points with seven rebounds and five assists.
NIACC (5-6, 0-1) was led by freshman Noah Compan with a career-high 25 points and nine rebounds. Compan was 11 of 21 from the field, including two 3-point goals.
Compan's previous career high was 15 points against Black Hawk College-Moline on Nov. 4.
Also for the Trojans, Kenny Quinn scored 12 points, including four 3-point goals, and Myles Tucker scored 10 points.
NIACC returns to action Wednesday in an ICCAC contest at Ellsworth. Game time in Iowa Falls is slated for 7:30 p.m.
