NIACC volleyball team falls to DMACC, 3-1
BOONE - The NIACC volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision to DMACC Wednesday in the opening round of the NJCAA Region XI-A tournament.
DMACC won 25-22, 25-17, 25-19, 25-19.
"Tonight we played for the last time with this team - and they played for each other," NIACC coach Chris Brandt said. "We couldn't be prouder of their effort this season. We would have loved another day, week, year, etc. with this team and although it's hard to be done, they have created a strong legacy for all to follow.
NIACC ends the season with a record of 19-14.
NIACC was led by Meagan Miller, who tallied 12 kills, 12 digs and three blocks, Becca Konz had seven kills and Kaylee Whittington and Aubury Coleman added six kills apiece.
Whittington added 10 digs and Coleman had five blocks.
Jackie Bleifus had 18 assists and 11 digs, Hailey Winter collected 19 assists with four digs, Lauren Ries had five kills and five digs, Liv Block had 14 digs and Brooke Greenwood had four kills and five blocks.
It was the final match for NIACC sophomores Bleifus, Winter, Whittington, Coleman, Hannah Carr, Miller and Block.
