NIACC volleyball team moves to 7-0
WAVERLY — NIACC picked up a pair of wins Thursday in a triangular at Wartburg.
The Lady Trojans topped the Wartburg College Junior Varsity, 18-25, 25-22, 20-25, 26-24, 21-19, and wrapped up their night with a win over the University of Dubuque Junior Varsity, 25-17, 25-19, 25-21.
"It was another good night in the gym," NIACC coach Chris Brandt said. "Our offense started slow but finished very strong as we were able to play a faster tempo game at the end of the Wartburg match.
"(Thursday) was an opportunity to move the lineup around and give everyone a chance to see playing time."
Sophomore Meagan Miller paced NIACC with 33 kills and 19 digs on the night and sophomore Kaylee Whittington added 25 kills, four aces and 18 digs.
Also for NIACC, sophomore Liv Block had 37 digs, sophomore Aubury Coleman tallied 14 kills and seven blocks and sophomore Jackie Bleifus and sophomore Hailey Winter combined for 78 assists.
