Four NIACC volleyball players moving on

MASON CITY - Four former NIACC volleyball players will play in the fall at four-year schools.

Liv Block will play at Southwestern Christian University, Aubury Coleman will play at Lincoln University, Meagan Miller will play at Grand View University and Kaylee Whittington will play at Ottawa University.

Southwestern Christian University is a NAIA school located in Oklahoma City, Okla. that plays in the Sooner Athletic Conference.

Lincoln University, which is located in Pennsylvania, is a NCAA Division II school that plays in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

Grand View University is a NAIA school in Des Moines that competes in the Heart of America Athletic Conference.

Ottawa University. which is in Kansas, is a NAIA school that plays in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Whittington (middle blocker/outside hitter) and Block (defensive specialist) were first-team NJCAA Region XI-A selections and were both second-team all-conference selections.

Whittington led the Lady Trojans with 420 kills. She also had 258 digs, 40 blocks and 28 ace serves.

Whittington accumulated 743 career kills with 671 digs, 95 blocks and 79 ace serves.

Block led the Lady Trojans with 650 digs and had 39 ace serves. Block finished her two-year career at NIACC with 1,083 digs and 78 ace serves.

Miller was a second-team NJCAA Region XI-A selection as an outside hitter. Miller had 242 kills and 180 digs this season.

Miller was also a honorable mention all-conference selection and a RegionXI-A all-tournament team selection.

Coleman had 176 kills and 68 blocks in her sophomore season. She had 481 career kills and 121 career blocks.
