NIACC volleyball team goes 1-1 at Iowa Central tournament

FORT DODGE - The NIACC volleyball team split a pair of matches on Friday on the opening day of the Iowa Central tournament.
The Lady Trojans dropped a 3-1 decision to North Platte before downing Carl Sandburg 3-1.
Set scores against North Platte were 25-20, 16-25, 25-21 and 25-14.
Set scores against Carl Sandburg were 25-18, 27-29, 25-20 and 25-18.
"We had a pretty good day offensively," Lady Trojans coach Chris Brandt said. "(Today) will be another tough day."
Kaylee Whittington and Aubury Coleman paced the NIACC offense with a combined 53 kills on the day. The pair also combined for 15 blocks.
Hailey Winter had 39 assists, 15 digs and three ace serves.
On Saturday, the Lady Trojans play Cowley College at 11 a.m. and Colby College at 3 p.m.
