NIACC volleyball team sweeps Waldorf College JV, 3-0
MASON CITY - The NIACC volleyball team wrapped up its regular season with a 3-0 victory over the Waldorf College junior varsity Thursday night in its annual Think Pink match in the NIACC gym.
NIACC won 25-22, 25-19, 25-18.
"Think Pink night is a match that allows us to player for a greater cause," NIACC coach Chris Brandt said. "It was wonderful to once again share the night with the Waldorf Warriors as we raise awareness for breast cancer and raise funds for the Mercy Foundation."
Freshmen Aubury Coleman and Kaylee Whittington led NIACC with eight kills apiece. Freshman Jackie Bleifus led the Lady Trojans with 10 assists and freshman Hailey Winter collected eight assists.
Also for the Lady Trojans, Liv Block had 14 digs, Karlie Niedert recorded six blocks and three kills, Amber Carter had seven digs, Whittington had six digs and Winter had six digs.
NIACC (17-16 overall) opens NJCAA Region XI-B tournament play Wednesday at Iowa Central. Match time is set for 7 p.m.
