DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Three members of the NIACC women's golf team teed off at the NJCAA national golf tournament at the LPGA International Hills Course on Monday.
Savannah Lentz shot a round of 94 (44-48) and is tied for 64th individually – three strokes outside the top 50 – after the first day of the four-day tournament.
Meanwhile, Bailey Walter is tied for 100th after a 104 (52-52) and Carlie Eckenrod is 106th after a round of 110 (55-55).
"I tell you what, these three really battled," NIACC coach Chris Frenz said. "It was a long round (almost 6 hours) and the heat and humidity was pretty high. I know they didn't play like they wanted to, but now we have something to shoot for and improve on every day."
