DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Three members of the NIACC women's golf team continued to compete at the NJCAA national golf tournament at the LPGA International Hills Course on Wednesday.
Savannah Lentz followed up consecutive rounds of 94 on Monday and Tuesday with a round of 96 on Wednesday for a three-round total of 284 for the Lady Trojans. Lentz, who tied for 71st at nationals as a freshman, was in 73rd place heading into Thursday's final round.
Meanwhile, Bailey Walter followed up her 91 on Tuesday with a 94 on Wednesday and has a three-round total of 289. Walter was in a tie for 83rd place heading into the final 18 holes.
Carlie Eckenrod shot a 101 on Wednesday and has a three-round total of 305, which was tied for 99th place.
"They had a record amount of rain late Tuesday evening and throughout the night, and that made for some very difficult playing conditions, especially in the bunkers that were basically all washed out but they were still deemed in play and really gave us some extremely difficult shots," NIACC coach Chris Frenz said. "The back nine has just had our number this week and (today) we tee off again on the back nine, so hopefully we come out with a positive mental attitude and attack this course one final time."
