
NIACC women stop Lakers, 30-10
MASON CITY - The NIACC women's wrestling team topped Iowa Lakes 30-10 in an ICCAC dual meet Wednesday evening in the NIACC recreation center.
NIACC, which is in its second season of women's wrestling, improved its dual meet record to 1-3.
In Wednesday's dual against the Lakers, the Trojans gained a win on by mat at 136 pounds by sophomore Essie McCleish (1-7), who pinned Isabel Jues in 4 minutes, 32 seconds.
The Trojans also gained forfeits from Jenesis Sanders (123), Nyla Rocke (130), Carly Klein (170) and Destinee Thomas (235).
NIACC returns to action Jan. 24 in a dual meet at defending NJCAA national champion Indian Hills. Match time in Centerville is slated for 6 p.m.
