
NIACC's Weaver places 6th in 400 at UNI meet
CEDAR FALLS - NIACC's Wal Khat won two events and David Carter won the 600-meter run at the University of Northern Iowa Jack Jennett Invitational on Friday.
Khat won the mile in a time of 4 minutes, 27.27 seconds. Isaac Smith, who was running unattached, was second in 4:29.35.
It was the second victory this indoor season for Khat in the mile. He also won the mile at the University of Dubuque Sol Butler Classic on Jan. 17 in 4:27.60.
Khat also won the 800 in 1:56.09. Northern Iowa's Ben Ahlrichs was second in the 800 in 1:57.12.
NIACC's Jose Aguilera was sixth in the mile (4:37.59).
Carter won the 600-meter run in a time of 1:26.21. Wartburg College's Dillon DeMott was second in 1:28.83.
For the NIACC women, Cailey Weaver was sixth in the 400 in a time of 1:02.14. Grand View's Ronnoja Ayers won the 400 in 1:00.05.
Also for the Lady Trojans, Cassandra Bonsall was ninth in the 600 (1:50.99).
NIACC returns to action Feb. 4 at the Grinnell College Invitational.
