NIACC women are 18th in USTFCCA indoor rankings
MASON CITY - The NIACC women's track and field team is ranked No. 18 in the first set of rankings released by the United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association on Wednesday.
Iowa Central is ranked No. 1, Iowa Western is ranked fourth and Indian Hills is ranked No. 24.
For the NIACC women, freshman Cailey Weaver is ranked fourth in the 800 with a time of 2 minutes, 19.54 seconds. Weaver is 14th in the 600 (1:40.53).
Freshman Patricia Sahr is 11th in the high jump (5 feet, 2 1/2 inches) and the Lady Trojans' distance medley relay team has the seventh fastest time so far this season (13:59.27).
The NIACC men's team is ranked 19th in the first set of rankings. Iowa Central is ranked No. 1, Iowa Western is sixth and Indian Hills is ranked No. 22.
For the NIACC men, sophomore Wal Khat is ranked seventh in the mile (4:24.23), eighth in the 600 (1:21.32) and 17th in the 800 (1:59.89).
Also for the Trojans, freshman Blake Keller ranks 16th in the 3,000 (9:13.80).
The NIACC track and field teams continue their indoor season Friday at the University of Northern Iowa Invitational in Cedar Falls.
