Rockford's Norby signs letter of intent with NIACC
ROCKFORD - Rockford's middle infielder Marissa Norby recently signed a national letter of intent to play softball at NIACC.
As a junior, Norby hit .419 with four home runs, 39 runs batted in and a slugging percentage of .699.
Norby was Rockford's No. 1 pitcher during her freshman and sophomore seasons. During her sophomore season, she struck out 85 and walked 43 with an earned run average of 3.38 in 153 1/3 innings pitched.
Norby joins the recruiting class of Kristen Peka (Minnetonka, Minn.), Ayania Leicht (Bloomington, Minn.), Callie McQuown (Forest City), Tayler Schmidt (Charles City) and Kylie Sherwood (Martensdale St. Marys).
